Account

Your email address and password (or your Google or Apple sign-in), plus a display name and optional profile photo. Sign-in and account records are held with our hosted service provider.

Orders

Buyer name, email, phone number, any note you add, the items ordered, and — for physical items — the shipping or pickup address. Payment is arranged outside the site and you enter a payment confirmation code; we store that code as the record of payment. We do not collect or store card numbers.

Library activity

Reading position, bookmarks, highlights and audiobook listening position, so you can pick up where you left off across devices. Your private listening log is kept only in your own browser on that device and is never sent to us.

Reviews

Ratings and reviews you write are public and show your display name.

Site usage

We record page views on the site: the page path, the listing or storefront it relates to, a per-tab session identifier, your account id if you are signed in, the referring site, and any campaign source in the link you followed. This is our own measurement — we do not store your IP address or browser user-agent in it, and there are no third-party advertising or analytics tags on the site.

Sellers

Storefront details, contributor profiles, uploaded files and cover art, payout method and reference, and agreement acceptance records (who accepted, which storefront, which policy version, and the time of acceptance).

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To take, deliver and support orders, and to handle refunds.
• To give sellers what they need to fulfil their own orders.
• To save your place in a book or audiobook.
• To send transactional email about orders, accounts and storefronts.
• To understand which pages and listings are being visited.
• To review listings, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.

For their own orders only, a seller sees the buyer's name, email, phone number and — where the item ships or is collected — the delivery address. That is provided so they can fulfil the order. It is not permission to add you to a marketing list.

Sellers cannot see your reading or listening history, your bookmarks, your highlights or your saved positions. Those records are restricted to your own account. Sellers see order and payout figures, aggregate page-view counts for their own listings, and public play/like counts on music where those counters exist. We do not offer detailed listener analytics, and we do not promise to.

A small number of authorised administrators can access account, order, listing and site-usage records in order to provide support, investigate problems, review listings, and protect the platform. Administrators can also view a storefront as its seller to diagnose issues, and that action is logged. We do not treat this access as anonymous or unlimited, and we do not use it to browse members' reading history for curiosity.

• Hosting, accounts and file storage — our managed cloud backend stores accounts, orders, listings and uploaded files. Ebook, audiobook, music and original-image files sit in private storage; public cover and gallery images sit in public storage.
• Sign-in providers — Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them. They tell us your email and basic profile; we do not get your password.
• Email delivery — transactional email is sent through our platform's managed email service from our own sending domain. We keep a send log (which message, recipient, status) and a suppression list so we stop mailing addresses that bounce or unsubscribe.
• AI assistance — optional AI features send text to Google Gemini models through our platform's AI gateway (see section 7).
• Address lookup — when you type a shipping address, the address autocomplete sends what you type to Google's Places service to suggest completions.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Three optional features use AI, all of them through our platform's gateway to Google Gemini models:

• The assisted intake chat on the help path for new creators. Everything you type there is sent to the model — including any name, email address or phone number you type or confirm in the conversation, because those details are part of the chat and are saved with your application so a person can read it. You are told this before the conversation starts. Use the self-service route instead if you would rather not send your details to a model.
• The catalog chat assistant, which is given only the public listing details of titles that are publicly listed and approved: title, contributors, formats, price and the description the seller wrote. It is not given the text of any book, and private, unlisted and members-only material is not given to it. Your messages go to the model.
• Genre suggestions for sellers, which send a listing's title, description and contributor name to the model and store the suggestion on the listing.

Apart from what you choose to type into these features, we do not send your library activity, order history or account contact details to these models, and we do not grant anyone the right to train models on members' works.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site keeps a small amount of data in your browser's local storage: your sign-in session, your shopping cart, a per-tab session id for page-view counting, the page you were heading to before signing in, your saved reading place, whether you have dismissed certain prompts, and your device-only listening log. Clearing your browser storage removes these; clearing the listening log does not affect your saved reading or listening position.

We keep account, order, entitlement, payout and agreement-acceptance records for as long as your account exists and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, accounting, dispute and legal purposes. Library position and bookmarks last as long as your account. Page-view records and email send logs are kept for operational review.

We have not set fixed automatic deletion periods for every category, and we would rather say so than publish a schedule we do not run. If you want your account and its personal data removed, write to us and we will do it, keeping only what we must for records of completed transactions.

Accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, we do not offer child accounts or child profiles, and we run no behavioural advertising. Families are welcome to read and listen together on a parent's account. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Purchased files that are not meant to be public — ebook files, audiobook recordings, music files and original artwork — sit in private storage and are served through time-limited links only after we check that the requesting account owns them. Personal library records are restricted to the account that owns them. Access to administrative tools is limited to authorised administrators.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim any file we deliver is impossible to copy once it has been legitimately downloaded.

• View and update your profile and account details in your account settings.
• Unsubscribe from non-essential email using the link in those messages.
• Clear your device-only listening log from the player's menu.
• Delete a review you have written.
• Ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account — email contact@uponthisrockpublishing.com.

Transactional messages about orders, refunds and account security are not optional while you have an account.
