1.How curation works
New storefronts and, in most cases, new listings are reviewed before they go on sale. We look at whether a work fits this community, whether the listing is accurate, and whether the rights and safety basics are in order.
A review decision is about fit, quality, rights, safety, accuracy and legal risk. Deciding whether a work fits this catalogue is ours to make, and we may decline, ask for changes, unlist or suspend a listing on those grounds.
2.What is not allowed
- Illegal material, or material that infringes someone else's rights.
- Sexual exploitation, or any sexualised depiction of minors.
- Threats, incitement to violence, or targeted harassment.
- Violations of someone's privacy, such as publishing personal details or private images without permission.
- Deceptive listings — wrong format, wrong length, misattributed authorship or narration, fake availability, or misleading pricing.
- Malware, or files intended to damage or compromise a device.
3.Difficult subjects are allowed
Family history, biography, religious writing, war, illness, loss and historical record frequently involve difficult material. Honest treatment of hard subjects is welcome. Where a work contains content some readers will want warning about, say so in the description.
4.Listing accuracy
Titles, contributors, formats, page or run times, sample content and delivery promises must describe what the buyer actually receives. Narrators must be credited as narrators, authors as authors and artists as artists — these roles are not interchangeable.
5.Enforcement
Depending on what we find we may ask for a correction, unlist a title, suspend a storefront, or remove content. Where we can, we tell the seller what the issue is and give them a chance to fix or contest it.
Enforcement does not remove access for people who already bought a title, except where a rights complaint, a legal requirement or confirmed fraud makes removal necessary. In those cases we look at a refund as the remedy.
6.Reporting a problem
Rights complaints go through Copyright & Reports. Anything else — a listing that looks deceptive, harassing or unsafe — can be sent to contact@uponthisrockpublishing.com with the listing address and what concerns you.
