About Us

    The Story Behind the Name

"Upon This Rock" comes from a book written by our dear Grandma Louise Stoddard about her beloved husband, Grandpa Charles. In it, she described how he built his foundation on a rock — a metaphor for the principles, faith, and community he helped nurture throughout his life.

Grandma Louise had a gift for writing. She kept meticulous journals, wrote heartfelt letters to her grandchildren, and recorded the stories of our family with care and devotion. One of her last wishes was to make these writings — and the works of other family authors — available to our people.

    Our Mission

Upon This Rock Publishing is a platform built for our family and friends — a community of about six thousand people — to discover, share, and order books written by our own. These aren't mass-market publications. They're personal histories, biblical commentaries, biographies, and pioneer heritage accounts that are meaningful to us.

Until now, sharing books has been a manual process: an author announces at a group meeting that they're printing a hundred copies, people raise their hands, and orders are taken by word of mouth. This platform replaces that process with something simple and accessible — a place where any family author can list their books and any family member can browse, discover, and order them.

    For Authors

If you've written a book — whether it's a family history, a scriptural study, a memoir, or a collection of recipes from our grandmothers — we'd love to help you share it. Create an account, add your books, and let the family know what's available. It's that simple.
